A birth doula is "a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible." (DONA International). During your pregnancy you can expect me to be your professional friend who helps you navigate essential informational, emotional, and physical components of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. During labor and birth, I will be a continuous presence of support.
Childbirth education from resources like Evidence-Based Birth and Lamaze, physical support practices from Spinning Babies, and advocacy training from Birth Monopoly, supporting you through every step of the way.
And I support your partner in supporting you! Sharing my knowledge so you both feel empowered throughout your birth experience.

A doula is a continuous comforting presence offering reassurance and encouragement, showing a caring and empathetic attitude and helping you and your partner work through fears and self doubt about pregnancy and birth. Debriefing after birth is another way a doula can provide emotional support.

Doula Support For Partners
The early postpartum period is often called “The Fourth Trimester” for a reason. Those early weeks following the birth of a child are tender and sacred, much like pregnancy and birth, and deserve the same special care. Postpartum doula support provides practical assistance with newborn baby care, lactation/bottle feeding, laundry, dishes, meal preparation, light cleaning, and more. Postpartum doulas also offer emotional support during this transition (much like a birth doula), and will validate your experience while offering any advice or resources you desire. If you choose us to be a part of your village, we will educate and support you in ways that create success in your unique parental journey. Each family dynamic is different and the goals/experiences families desire when welcoming a new baby home require special attention. We promise our complete dedication to provide your family with guidance, love, and support allowing YOU to make informed decisions in line with your parenting goals.
